Help my hero find a song!
I need a song for my hero to sing a song. Karaoke style. I'm not yet sure if he's going to sing something upbeat and sexy. Or something torchy and sexy. Either way it's gonna be sexy! I have a dozen possibilities penciled at the top of the as yet unwritten scene, but none of them quite fit.
So, imagine yourself sitting in a dark bar, alone at a table, and this walks on stage. Dark, devlish, delicious. Women swoon, angels weep. And on top of all that the guy can sing. Like a rock god. From the moment he sings his first note, he sings his song to you.
So, with that in mind, here's your mission - find my hero the perfect song!
Pop your suggestion in the comments, twitter me, Facebook me, send me a Youtube clip, or email the title to ally@allyblake.com. If your song ends up being the song, consider yourself the proud owner of a signed Ally Blake book from my backlist!

You know how hard it is to think of a song when you want to think of one? And then I wanted to pick just one?
I suppose you can't go past I’d Die For You by Bon Jovi (or anything by Bon Jovi).
But I do like some of the old songs would be great for a karaoke- singing sexy guy. Aerosmith's Don't Want To Close My Eyes. Tom Jones' - Sex Bomb, or Just Help Yourself.
Think I should leave it at that or I might make too long a list!
Hugs
Serena

Serena, my mind is spinning with possibilities. Truth is I'd yet to decide if he was to sing a ballad or a rock anthem. You're all giving such great ideas for both!
Embarrasment of riches, truly.

Tom Jones- You Can Leave Your Hat On. He could TOTALLY pull that off.

Shoot - I was going to suggest Bon Jovi, but Serena's already done that.
Can vouch for a jovi song though - my hubby sang and played 'Born to be my baby for me' once. Swoon.

Donna, he could so pull that off! And boy would I love to see him try.
Janette, you can NEVER go wrong with Bon Jovi. And I can't believe your husband actually serenaded you once! What a star!
Sigh...

ooh, I like this game!
Hmmm..
First cut is the deepest. OK, Rod Stewart is not sexy, but if THAT MAN was singing it in a dark bar in a gravelly voice, then it could take on a whole new meaning..
OMG. Elvis. Always on my mind. And if you could see your way to making him thrust his hips, that would help immeasurably...
Thinking about INXS - Need you tonight. He had IT didn't he, whatever IT is.

Bon Jovi was going to be my comment. I love your musical taste, ladies... :)

In answer to the actual question...
If I had to go with a Bon Jovi song (and let's face it, I would!) I'd pick "I'll Be There For You". I'd also consider "(You Want To) Make a Memory" from their second-last album. (What can I say...they're my favourite band...) :)
Some other favourites include:
Def Leppard - Miss You In A Heartbeat
Hinder - Lips of an Angel
Bryan Adams - (Everything I Do) I Do It For You
Wham - Careless Whisper (I've been listening to the Seether cover)
Chicago - Hard to Say I'm Sorry
Chris De Burgh - Lady in Red
LOL sorry for bombarding your comment section - I'm a procrastinating grad-student with too many papers to grade. :)

You want sexy? You want swoony? IMHO you can't go past the classics. How about You Belong To Me, or The Way You Look Tonight, or Sway or The Very Thought of You or You Go To My Head? Those crooners knew how to make a woman go weak at the knees!

Joanne, I love Elvis! I was a mad fan of his movies when I was a kid. Always on my Mind is such a beautiful song.
And Need You Tonight is my fave INXS song. But is it Bradley's? Hmm, we'll see!

mKat, bring 'em on hon! And wow, Careless Whisper was a front runner when I first started coming up with song ideas. How funny is that?
Procrastinate away!

JoniB, sexy and swoony is EXACTLY what I want - though I expect if that man stood on stage and recited the financial papers my heroine would still go all melty in the knees ;).

I am thinking Chris Isaak's "Wicked Game"...
or Daniel Bedingfield's "If You're Not The One".
(One is more of a classic than the other, but not as classic as Elvis. LOL)
